The Merrickville Legion is truly humbled and grateful for all the support from everyone on
Remembrance Day. WOW a record crowd in attendance at the Cenotaph. We are truly thankful for
everyone’s attendance and financial support towards the2022 Remembrance Day and Poppy Campaign.
Thank-you to Village staff for blocking off the street and allowing us a larger area. A special thank-you to
those that worked behind the scenes to make everything come together.
We hope that you took the” Walk of Honour” to the Cenotaph that honoured the young men that left
our community to fight for our freedom but never returned home. Those brave young men from
Merrickville, Jasper, Easton’s Corners, Burritt’s Rapids and surrounding area made the ultimate sacrifice.
The white crosses have the names of those young that went to war but never returned.
